About US Internship Program: General Information

Internship: part of the J-1 visa category of the US Government's Exchange Visitor Program, the Internship program affords international students and young professionals from around the world the unique opportunity to gain valuable practical training experience in the US for up to 18 months. Internship program provide an individual with a monitored or supervised work or service experience where the individual has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what he or she is learning throughout the experience. These learning goals can include: academic learning, career development, skill development, and personal development.A work experience placement can be a great life experience too.

For Work Experience participants, an internship offers the opportunity to live abroad for the first time, experiencing the work and social cultures of another country and meeting loads of new people.It is practicaly a mutually rewarding experience, aiding Work Experience participants in their personal and professional development and helping those companies that host these individuals to create a more dynamic and international workplace.

Internship Program: Eligibility conditions

Work Experience applicants for internship program must meet certain standards of eligibility.

For Internship USA, the basic eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Applicants must have between 20and 35 years of age.
  • Applicants must be students enrolled with a minimum of two years of study completed on a full-time basis at a state University ,post-secondary institution or recent graduates within 12 months of graduation.
  • Applicants must have sufficient English language skills to perform in both social and training activities.
  • Proposed training program must demonstrate a correlation to the applicant's program of study or degree area.
  • Applicants must be responsable,with positive attitude,adaptable to different situations, flexible.

Internship Program: Type of jobs and vacancies

The following filds are acceptable for the Work Experience Internship Program:

  • Info Media and Communication
  • Social Science and Social Services
  • Management, Commerce si Finance (inclusively tourism and hotel management)
  • Research
  • Public administration
  • Arth and Culture

You can not be one of the Work Experience participants for Internship prgram for the following filds: au pairs, maids or any other domestic work such as baby-sitting or housekeeping; teachers or educational instructors, Camp Counselors, staffing agency employees, pilots or crewmembers on ships or airplanes, medical assistant or anything involving hands-on therapy, counseling, administering treatment or making diagnoses of medical, psychiatric or psychological conditions,pharmacy positions directly related to dispensing medication to patients, veterinary assistant involved in hands-on care of animals.

  • Filled Application Form
  • Copy of your student card (inclusively first page and grades pages)
  • Proof of your student status
  • Copy of your personal I.D.
  • Copy of the passport - the page with personal information including visas
  • Two passport photos
  • Criminal Record
  • Medical Certificate
  • Certificate from Romanian Intern Ministry that you don't have interdictions to leave the country!
  • Picture resume in English
